Reconciliation Action Plan

Acknowledgement of Country

Willunga Charter acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters across Australia on which we operate, and in particular the Kaurna people of the Adelaide region. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and recognise the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country, culture, and community. We honour their histories and traditions, and commit to walking together towards a future of truth, respect, and reconciliation.

Our Commitment

Reconciliation is a journey we take with purpose and respect.
Our actions are:

  • Achievable – scaled to our size and resources
  • Authentic – grounded in genuine engagement, not tokenism
  • Measurable – with visible progress and transparent reporting
  • Future‑focused – building towards a formal Reflect RAP when ready

Our Focus Areas

We align our work with four nationally recognised pillars:

  • Relationships – building trust through respectful, local engagement
  • Respect – embedding cultural respect in our workplace and services
  • Opportunities – supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in our workforce and supply chain
  • Governance – tracking progress and being transparent about outcomes

Our Pathway

We are taking a staged approach that grows with our capacity and relationships:

  • Connect with local Aboriginal organisations
  • Deliver cultural awareness training for all staff
  • Identify and engage with a Supply Nation supplier (https://supplynation.org.au/)
  • Participate in community events such as NAIDOC or National Reconciliation Week
  • Maintain active relationships and share our progress publicly
  • We will publish a short annual update on our website to transparently share progress and next steps.
  • For feedback or enquiries, contact info@willungacharter.com.au .

Through these steps, Willunga Charter aims to contribute to a reconciled Australia where respect, opportunity, and shared understanding are part of everyday business.
